yes instant death by shooting is preferable, but trapped in a cage for hours on end, no food-no water, is more stressfull then 2 or 3 min in the water barrel. there are places where you cant shoot a gun, there is no place where its leagal to trap and release and that is cruel and stressful as well.
there are people that just cant afford the loss of chickens or a 50 dollar fee to have a nusance animal picked up. those chickens and that 50 bucks may be all that family has for the week. people can say make your coop fort knox, but for the poor its just not a fesiable option. they have little to no money and they are just getting by any way they can. and that just might have to include trapping to protect their food supply and then dispatching the nusance animal.
my greatgrandmother used a water bucket because it was a pain to pick buckshot out of the meat. with a nice tomato sauce everything tastes good over pasta.
Now feeding the gator that is one way to create a nuisance gator!!! then when he sees my kids fishing he will come look for food.
Welp I don't know he is not without food I gave him some boiled eggs
yeah stupid but he is too spleepy to notice, doesn't seem destressed to me.
If you decide to relocate just be sure you are able to be safe!!! Any animal (cute in the cage or not) can become extremely viscous when released. I have herd to many stories of people being bitten or mauled by an animal they thought was so gentle in the cage! Just make sure you are able to get away or be inside a vehicle and use a rope to open the cage. You might take it to a lake or river and release it there if your not gonna kill it.
WHY GIVE SOMEONE ELSE YOUR PROBLEM, BY RELOCATING! THAT IS MEAN....I say humming and set him in the horse tank! Coons carry a lot of diseases and eat your kittens!
Why do so many people think its ok to trap and relocate? Its ILLEGIAL. Its very tough and cruel on the relocated animal. They struggle, they starve, they spread tons of illness, and they freak out because there is no familiar home or food source. First place they will go for food is someone elses back yard. And that someone else with either torment it further by relocating it again or put it out of its misery. Relocating is not the kindest and most humane way to deal with nuisance animals. If youre going to trap then IMO you need to be prepared to deal with it humanely.
