My story starts one and a half years ago. My wife and I have 2 wonderful children who are addicted to eating eggs. It got to the point that I would not eat eggs just so we always had some in the fridge for them. I thought to myself, "Self, if you had a couple chickens, you could eat eggs too!" That lead to a google search and found this site. I did see the warning on the front page about how addictive it was and decided to see anyways. It was great for a while, until friends, coworkers, and the kids teachers found out we had fresh eggs. The requests from others began even before all the chickens were laying eggs. It got to the point that I did not eat eggs again, this time because we were selling most of them to others. Oh well, at least the income from eggs covered feed, bedding, and treats!

But the problems now was.........I WANTED TO EAT AN EGG! So, with this mornings delivery added to last years order (and a seperate trip to the local farm stores) I now have 43 chickens! Maybe now I can eat an omelette every now and then!

PS I am planning on contacting a attorney about the lack of a real warning on this site!

I keep saying I an just getting a few more chickens. We will see what happens in a couple of months when my DH builds my new and improved and BIGGER hen house.

I hope you get an omelet and maybe a frittata soon.

What cute little additions! Come on now, you know you didn't get more babies for the eggs, you got them because they are so darn cute!
You're not alone though, I used the "I want to add some layers to my flock" excuse as well.

There was the "ONE DAY" that the wife came back from a LONG trip.

I was banned from incubation, raising chicks in the house and of course I was limited to a "nursery" that I had to put together for any more chicks.

This is what she cam home to:

Well, according to the slip from Ideal, Silver Lace Wings and Iowa Blues. The yellow ones are packing peanuts and I am not quite sure what they are, besides dinner.

i know how you feel my kids can down 12 boiled eggs in one sitting (30 minutes and want more) and I have only 3 kids and no chickens yet but come june i will have some
