My best friend, every time we speak on the phone (and it's daily) - ends the conversation with, "And you don't need any chicks, Linda."
She tries to tell me it's a pain to sequester chicks in the bathroom, keep it hot for them, etc., but she doesn't REALLY know how freakin' CUTE they are, how adorable, and how it ISN'T any bother to shower and/or use a dusty bathroom with peeps in a Rubbermaid brooder in it. She tries to remind me how sad it was when 2 failed to thrive and died (yes, that's so very true), and how I'll have to sequester chicks from the 20 week old pullets and rooster, but she doesn't know that's why I'm planning on building a third coop, so I can use one of the smaller two as a nursery until they're big enough to join the rest of the flock... and..... and....
"You don't need any chicks, Linda." What does SHE know about it, huh???
...my favorite feed store got its first shipment of a zillion chicks just yesterday and I have a 3 day weekend starting tomorrow......
