Looking desperately to adopt 2 hens

We very recently lost one of our two remaining rescue hens, and are desperately looking for two more in the SF Bay Area. Our one hen is about 4 years old, we think. The only hens available locally are newly hatched. Is that too young to add to our flock of one 4 year old? Also, any leads on 2 mature hens to adopt locally would be greatly appreciated!

I would put an ad on your local Craigslist. You can also find your state thread here and post in it. Good luck in your search!

Check the animal shelters too (give them a call)! sometimes they either get chickens, or they foster them out...at the very least they may be able to tell you where some might be.
