My best friends friends just past away he was old and she is deviated. I was wondering if anyone has a rooster they would like to re-home. Was thinking about giving her a good Christmas gift. She has 10 hens and needs the rooster for better eggs. Thank you and hopefully I can make her feel better with a new man in her life :)

Where are you located?

I understand your desire to do something to help. It's a helpless feeling to love someone who is grieving. And how sweet that you want to give her a living creature to cheer her up.

Do you know if she wants a rooster? Do you have roosters? A rooster is a lot of work to integrate, and it doesn't always work. It's quite devastating to get so hopeful about adding a rooster and then having him injure your hens. Or, as in my own case right now, trying to integrate a rooster resulted in the rooster being injured by my top hen. Not over space or food. She was just glad to finally have a shot at him and ran up to him to attack and had him in a death grip all in the first 30 seconds of integration. Obviously, I'm back at square one with a new plan. So, fair warning, this may not be the wonderful gift it sounds like.

P.S. I think you meant to say your friend is devastated, not deviated. ;)

Having a rooster doesnt mean they will get better eggs. Hens will lay regardless if there is a rooster or not. Having a rooster can, in most cases, help in protecting the hens should a predator try to hurt one, or they wish to have fertilized eggs to hatch. Getting a rooster, too, that wont end up being a jerk is also kind of hard to know.
Im sorry your friend is having to deal with thier loss but maybe a rooster is something that should be discussed first. For now, just be there for them. That will be the greatest gift.
