Looking for a safe mosquito repellent for my coops.

Anyone here know of a good mosquito repellent I can use in and around my coops.I have seen a few flying in the coop.after the hens have gone to roost.This year is suppose to a bad year for ticks and mosquito's.

Encourage swallows or purple martins in your yard by putting up nest boxes on posts, would be my advice - they eat a lot of mosquitoes.

This is a neat thread about repelling flies LOL.

Tick eaters would be guineas I have read, but oh they are LOUD. If you consider them carefully research what others say about them.

I am struggling with mosquitoes as well. I have a purple martin house near my coop. But still having issues with the hens combs being marred by mosquito. Any suggestions?

I did find recipes for non-toxic essential oil recipes for mosquito repellants when I searched google. I don't know if those are effective or safe for food animals though.

I have been told that Lavender is a natural Skeeter repellant. Plant it around your property to keep them away. I dont know if it works , but thats what I have been told.
