I just got a couple of birds.... 18 weeks or so old...
Their feathers are so soft and those claws are like knives!
Question? The comb is supposed to be straight up right??
This boy has a horribly waive and I think a thumb print too.....
I guess I will find out how this guy tastes....

At one time I had a couple Australorp chicks the same age as a group of Penes. The only way I could tell them apart at 6 to 8 weeks was that the Aorps would hang around together.
Later the pene earlobes turn white.

I just opened this account in BYC just to be able to respond to this post. I am interested in some Black Penedesenca chicks or hatching eggs. Any comments would be helpful. Thanks.

Hens' comb is supposed to lop over to the side. Rooster comb is upright 5-7 spikes with sidesprigs at the rear resembling a flower or crown.
Hens have the carnation comb too but sprigs are much smaller.

I've been trying to get some eggs from Canada. Where did yours come from?

There are a few people on my facebook Penedesenca thread in Canada looking for these as well. If anyone knows anyone up there please let me know and I will post it.
