Hey y’all! One of our turkens seems to walk funny, like she over exaggerates her steps and seems off balance sometimes, she also sits weird and her tail is pretty much always down. Everything else she does is normal. Her sister turken and the rest of the hens are healthy and normal. Anyone have any answers to this “issue” or any advice? We’ve checked her feet and legs and she doesn’t seem to have any sores or anything out of the ordinary going on. I also noticed today that her neck feathers have disappeared but she doesn’t have any signs of being picked on (that I know of). I’ve added photos and tried to add a video of her walking, and one of her sister because she chose to pose for me lol. Beatrice is the brown weirdo and Bianca is the white sister.

Some chicken diseases can cause leg weakness and balance issues. So can exposure to petroleum distillates such as machines leaking fluids onto the ground where a chicken picks up grit coated with the stuff. So does vitamin deficiencies.

You can try treating for the latter with vitamin E 400iu and B-complex. D3 might also be added for very young victims of leg problems.

Do you see any swelling? Have you checked the legs for scaly mites? Bottom of feet for sores and scabs?

We’ve added supplements to their food, the turken seems to have nothing changed but now another one of our girls has a leg injury. She lays down most of the day, and when she tries to move around she limps and seems to overcompensate walking on one foot. They are both eating and drinking normal but we’re baffled on these leg situations.
