looking for black copper maran eggs

LOL I have visited peachick and see all those birds in person

I do frequent her flicker page though. My chicks are 8 weeks old so you have a little while until they become the Monsertouse fully feathered beasts mine are today. That egg color is great espeacially from new layers in this time of year. Did you get any blue chicks? They do grow very quickly and eat a ton

Yes...I have blues, too. They are all much more laid back than I thought they would be. Their demeanor and personality is so sweet. They are very energetic at times, but at other times, they can kind of have an "I could care less" attitude.

My blue copper rooster, loves to cuddle in my hand...YES..HE STILL FITS...not for long, I suspect by the looks of Henry's!

They want to be the first to see, when I reach my hand in the brooder w/ treats, but their not always the first to want the treats once they seem them. It just depends on their mood...and they DO have moods. If they were human, I could just see them raising their wing and saying "TALK TO THE HAND, GIRLFRIEND!"

WOW they are beautiful for some reason none of mine have any coppering coming in yet have you noticed this on yours? My blue copper pullet does have a bit of copper but the cockeral espeacialy suprised me with their lack of copper I hope they just molt into it.

They are about to go through that awkward stage of when the feathering can't decide which way it is going to go, and they molt, but not all the new feathers come in yet...you know what I'm talking about?

Yes...coppering on my blacks, not on my blues. But saw on someone's website of a blue from baby to adult, the copper didn't come in until, I wanna say, 3 months?
I just love that light blue color, that they will turn out to be. And, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Peachick again.

Ya I agree I would buy from peachick in a minuet. Ok thanks I hope they get more copper soon the blue pullet has the most just on her head and neck though and its really hard to see. Your chicks look great I can't wait to get my first egg !!!!!!!

Huh?! Thanks--but I cant hardly take a picture to save myself. I have a stupid little digital camera and I have to stand outside with the silly birds allllll day to get a decent picture. Usually, I finally get them to "pose" and then my finger is in the picture,or they move RIGHT before the stupid camera's delay before it clicks and I get a blur, or a butt or something equally as disappointing--do you know what I mean? I have been trying to take pictues of my eggs, they stay still and I can't even get those right. They look so pretty in person, but when I download them they look just washed out and faded. When I try to fix them with the windows fixer thing I just get frustrated! UGH!

Thanks though. I actually read your post out loud to my husband and we both laughed! He has seen me take some "dooseys"!

I am going to go make a cup of hot cocoa and schnapps...a little whipped cream...

Maybe I could take a picture of that????

I have the same problems with pictures and my art is photography living things are heard to take photo's of I have better luck with my black and white old style photo's of the birds then with my digital I get A's in photo and my pictures are mostly of chickens

I took a really good role of film with a few action shots of chickens and I think I am going to develop tomorrow ! I will try and scan some of my photos and post them on here

Your waterfowl is amazing and I need some of those huge geese ! I also like the silver apple yards and want some LF of them

I figured when I saw the pictures you had that you had taken photography! I am glad you like the birds--but if you cant have a rooster you'll never get by with those geese!!! Those little Appleyards are noisy, too--for their size! The quiet ones are the Mandarins. They just make a little whistle. I cant wait to see your pictures! Let me know when you post them, k? What does LF mean?
