Looking for Chromosomes numbers of different Pheasants.

How many chromosomes does, Red Golden Pheasants, Swinhoe Pheasants, Lady Amherst Pheasants, & Eared Pheasants have?

Planning to do some hybridization experiments, & it's something I must know.

Possibly create fertile hybrids for new breeds.

I knew about the chicken.

All pheasants have 82? I read that the Ring Necks have 80.

Some sources say 80 and others 82, others say 81 for males and 82 for females.

Oh well, at least there's not too much of a difference between a chicken, & a Pheasant. They're all classified as Phasianidae.

The difference is due to the difficulty in identifying and measuring the smaller macrochromosomes rather than to any intrinsic difference among Pheasant subspecies

Most birds have about 80 Chromosomes give or take(72-82) depending on how many they detect(many of those chromosomes are very small and go undetected), that is why you see many interspecific hybrids like Chicken-Pea Fowl, Chicken-Guinea fowl and Chicken-Quail Hybrids since they have very good matching chromosomes.
