Looking for extra run

This is more pleasing to the eye than the old chain link. Oh, and a big no to the netting as you mentioned you did not prefer it. I was looking at Home Depot for chain link runs, ended up on Amazon looking at baboo which would be great to use as a wind break this winter. I am the worst SQUIRREL when searching for things.
Do you have a Fencing Company in your area?
Have you Checked out Overez Coops (I love mine) with runs.
We overspent on the coop so hubby would string me up if I bought another coop.
I’m going in circles as I search, like the tidy bowl man, but I think I’m winding down to a flush decision) soon. 😂

Our run is a dog kennel. We buy rolls of galvanized wire like the pic below and cut it to twist around and attach hardware cloth to the metal poles of the dog kennel. It‘s strong and works well. View attachment 3248352
Oh I love that idea!
I think I’m heading this way now: it’s 9x12 so we wouldn’t have to move it as often and not too heavy. A mansion for six chicks even if their bedroom is studio size.😁

So we may pull the trigger on this one and add hardware cloth and diff cover in winter. But how do you add a door or opening to something like this? 🧐

Are you talking about a chicken pop door? Have you looked at the Omelet doors? I love my Omelet door and they can be attached to hardware cloth. Scroll down the page to see that option. https://www.omlet.us/shop/chicken_keeping/automatic_chicken_coop_door_opener/
That looks amazing! Maybe I could put it on the mini run leading to the bigger pen and leave the coop pop hole open all the time?🤔🤔
I saw one fella online had one on his run and one on his eglu. That’s A LOT of dough though. 😮
I had this one in my cart at Amazon cause it would fit a 9x12 pop hole.

On the omlet door, can you measure your opening? I’s it really only 7.5” for them to get through. Right now my hole is 9.5” I think. Rhode Island Reds are considered a big breed, Aren’t they.m worried they won’t fit.

To make something to attach to wire mesh I make a sandwich. Cut the hole and put a piece of wood on both sides of the wire, overlapping the cut wire edges so you don't snag clothing or skin on them. Screw them together to form a frame with the opening the size you want. That gives you something secure to attach to and stiffens up the wire, giving you a solid attachment point.

I generally use what scrap wood I have to make this frame. I often rip a 2x4 into 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" sections or look for something like a 1x3.

Hopefully Omlet has details on how to attach that door to wire mesh. If you can't find that, ask them. I don't know how stiff or strong that frame is around it and I only saw four screws. That's not enough to use that frame as one side of the sandwich unless there is something I'm not seeing.

I forgot to take my measuring tape outside and it’s raining, so I just put my arm up to the door and gaged by the freckles on my arm and measured them when I got back in. It’s about 10” high and about 8” wide. It’s plenty large enough for my ISA Brown and Barred Rock girls (and guy) to get through. Edited to add: I just got out my Omlet book and the measurements listed 8” wide by 12” tall. I guess my freckle method was a little off. 😂
