Looking for farm dog in IN

I am not really looking for one breeds (heck I kinda prefer mix breeds) But kinda want a pup from a farm were the parents are working, and have proven them selves. Also because I am buying the pup (and I an a teen so I don't have a job yet) The price is under 100$.
You probably aren’t going to find much for under $100 unfortunately unless your area is really cheap which it could be because for example I’ve gone on CL in other areas and was surprised how cheap they are while up here, you probably wouldn’t find anything under $200-300 or more. So it depends. You could maybe go with an older Craigslist rescue? I wouldn’t go with a CL “breeder.”

I am looking for a for dog, requirements are listed below.
Maybe check with your parents and see what kind of dog they are interested in.
I have a 130 lbs dog and a .22 so there will not by any male dogs around.
Joking or not, suggesting that you would shoot male dogs that were attracted by your intact female in season because of an instinctive need to reproduce because you choose to not have her spayed, is absolutely ridiculous.

In the meantime perhaps you should employ the services of a dog like this...

An interesting thing about pit bulls is in years past they were called nanny dogs and were used to guard and protect children. I don't know what happened to the breed but something sure has.
Mine still loves kids and shes never bit anyone, i have 10 siblings and we babysit and she loves to watch them.

I am looking for a for dog, requirements are listed below.
  • Female
  • Not pit bull (not even a mix)
  • 45-75 lbs when full grown
  • I am OK with getting an pup that is up to a year old.
  • Not fixed (not planing on breeding but just encase :) )
  • In Indiana
Thanks for looking!
Bear in mind that when a female dog comes in season, you not only have to worry about visiting males but the female may well leave your property and go shopping. Also, by spaying before the first heat you greatly reduce the risk of her getting breast cancer.

I've been very tempted to start breeding a family/farm mutt type dog just for such situations. I can't really grasp why people will pay $1000+ for some "brand name" mutt from a puppy mill. Best dogs my family ever had were family bred retriever mixes, under $50. Used to be common, mostly I just want a classic 'brown' dog again.

I understand that, I am looking for pups for sale, not advise.

Depends on what you are looking for. I have never knowingly bought any dog from a puppy mill, but I have paid substantial amounts to get a dog from a reputable breeder. Why? Because I wanted a puppy of that particular breed and I wanted a puppy that would be free of hip dysplasia and was bred for temperament and general soundness. Most of the time they had a health guarantee. To me it was worth it.
