Yeah, the Witcher series is Definitely an "R" rated type series. You can look up the summaries for most (if not all) of these authors and series on amazon or IMDB too.I can honestly say I've never heard of these. I think I may have heard of the witcher though. By "adult themed" I'm assuming there's an R rating. I will look into these titles next time I'm at the library and see if they "speak" to me
I feel you one million percent on that. 4 pages describing the grass and rocks on the side of the road is total snoresville.I read the Hobbit in 5th grade and the Lord of the rings just the first one. I tried to read the second book in the trilogy but I just find Tolkien waaaay to descriptive. I get it...he wants you there. He wants you to see it. But I'm bored with the scenery
I read Gone Girl and The Help because I saw the films and enjoyed them. In most cases the book is always better so I simply had to read them once I knew of it. I just saw A Man Called Otto so I might pick up A Man Called Ove cause it was quite goodSuggest Lianne Moriarty Australian writer [Mystery] Big Little lies was made into movie I think not mini series with Nicole Kidman.Apples never fall was made into recent mini series but all her books are good.

The movie was pretty good. Tom Hanks excellent as usual. I didn't really care for the substitution of a latina woman versus a serbian woman (heard about this in the special features) as there is a huge cultural difference. Really seems like ignorance on the director's part. But then again the issue with swedes and serbs doesn't exactly apply to American issues. I kinda wish they hadn't adapted it as an American thing and kept the original premise. But perhaps I'll just have to read the book. I just think it adds more to Oves general assumption that they're "idiots" if you understand the bigger cultural issue. Although not being able to parallel park a trailer or knowing how to drive a stick could be deemed by some people as being an "idiot" I find it as more of a superiority complex which wasn't explored too widely in the film.Gone Girl and The Help were both terrific books (and films). I never saw the movie A Man Called Otto, but the book it was based on, A Man Called Ove was really good (imo).
Or Gerald Durrell. If you like animals, anything by James Herriot. His books are amazing.
