Looking for Heritage breeds north of Toronto, Ontario

Does anyone know of any hatcheries or private breeders of heritage breed chickens in the Greater Toronto area? I'm located an hour north of Toronto, in Schomberg, Ontario.

What I’m particularly looking for are day-old (or older) pullets of Chantecler, Speckled Sussex, Dominique, Orpington, Wyandotte and/or Welsummer breeds. I’d also like to add a couple of Americauna or Araucana. This is proving to be no easy task.

I am willing to travel a reasonable distance (a couple of hours) to pick up the chicks. Unfortunately, many of the heritage hatcheries are near Ottawa, which is about 5-6 hours from here. :-(

Any information, contacts or recommendations will be very gratefully appreciated!

Try poultry talk Ontario (http://www.poultrytalkontario.net) or some of the Facebook group sites. Strictly Pullets of each of those varieties may be hard to come by, unless you go with the sex-linked colours. Good luck!

Thank you for the info on Poultry Talk Ontario. I had not heard of them before but it looks like a great site!
I know what you mean about trying to get only pullets. I don't think my odds are very good! Haha
