looking for ideas on how to move my coop 12 ft to higher ground

It might help get it started to jack up one end and put some 4" or bigger wooden posts on the ground under the runners. If you have enough of them, you can move it a few feet by letting them be like rollers then move the ones in the back (that have been moved beyond) back to the front, until you have it where you want it. I, too, would suggest a wench (although a winch will work as well, if you find a good strong one!)

On a serious note, we moved our coop from the point I built it on to where the old coop was by getting it on scrap wood to help slide it along. It took 5 or 6 people to scoot it about 10-12 feet. We just leveled it with a high lift jack (much easier!) If you can get some scrap plywood strips under the skids, I should slide easier than you think. Craigslist is a great place for scrap plywood, we put them one strip under the other until we reached the final location.
