What are the needs and living space on

- Ancona
- Barnevelders
and are they good with children

There is a general rule of thumb here, as a minimum to prevent pecking / cannibalism, for all large fowl of 4 s ft per bird in the coop and 10 sq ft per bird in the run. This is way less than I would keep chickens in, though.

And I agree, birds do need more room than this. Birds pick on each other when they feel cramped in, and if stuck in the coop all day long with nothing to do, picking and pecking on each other is the most entertaining thing they have to do. So give them as much room as you can afford.
