Looking for Inspiration...Show me the layout of your coop :)

Here is my Amish built 8ft x 8ft Chicken coop to house 22 chickens and in the inside is what my husband and i done, we are not yet done, there will be alot more added to this to make it better, we have no insulation but i do have a 12" wind Turbine for more Scullion and 2 or 3 vents, cuz where i live its gets HOT ! and i done a homemade light for my coop out of a old metal chick feeder but this is what i have.......... I hope that you like it

I love the light fixture too.
Do the chickens use the nest boxes?
I have a bucket with straw in with my oullets but they
Havent started layingyet.
I didnt think of tilting mine up like yours. If you like how yours work, think ill do that tomorrow..

Well Thank you everyone, I'm really glad that you all like my homemade light, and my bucket nesting boxes idea :)........ CowCreekGeek, you are more then welcome to make this light, this is why i showed it to everyone, i love my idea, my hubby and father put it together for me and i simply love it VERY SIMPLE TO MAKE, you will have to tell me how u do when u get it done......... Laura625, yes my chickens do use my buckets and lay thier eggs in them, but due to them multing right now i dont get much eggs as i used to but another thing that might be better for you in the long run is to get rid of the hay and go to PINE SHAVINGS, this will reduce the mites that are on chicken's, in hay mites can burro in it and live in it, but with shavings, there is something about it they dont like......:) I hope this helps u, For more questions please ask i love to answer all ur questions about my ideas. Thank you!

Thank you, and I'll be sure 'n do that (it's gonna be a while, as I ain't even got the power or the chicken house up there yet ~'-)

My thoughts, in regard to the buckets?

I was thinking of using them here, as I've a bunch of 'em, but find 'em so useful it's hard to give 'em up ... but, if I can?
They'll be connected w/ spacer blocks between each, in a pattern where each row centers the buckets between those of the previous row, just to save a bit on space -- of which y'all had plenty, so no reason to worry 'bout that.

However, one thing that might improve the nests?
Drilling a bunch of holes of good size through the bottoms and sides, towards the back and closest to the floor, would improve ventilation, keeping down the potential for mold and accumulations of dust/dirt/etc., and the ladies might prefer havin' a few strips of burlap or canvas hangin' over the centers of each opening to give 'em a bit of privacy.
