Hello,
I am making a run for my future flock and looking for a good place to purchase some mesh hardware cloth. Last summer I went to Benny's but sadly they are all closed. Does anyone have any recommendations? Looking to build a run for 6 hens. Thank you!

It looks like Walmart and Amazon both have 19 gauge, half inch hardware cloth, 48 inches by 50 feet, for about $61 a roll. Free delivery too, or can also pick up at Walmart.

Home depot is $59 for the same thing, except only 25 feet, instead of 50. Wonder what's wrong with them.

Plus, if like me, and you're using 16 foot sections, 25 foot roll you have to splice sections, 50 foot roll, makes 3 nice full length sections, no splicing.

The only only place I've seen less expensive is AgriSupply.com at $57 dollars for 48 inch by 50 foot roll, but the shipping knocks them out. They have stores in VA, NC, SC, and GA, which means if you pick it up at one of their stores, like I did, of course there's no shipping, which makes it the cheapest.

Free Shipping at $61, is a great price though. I ended up using about three rolls on my chicken tractor.

Wow those are some great calculations thanks so much ! Definitely looks like amazon or Walmart are the best but I thought I remembered someone posting a company that sold hardware cloth affordably. Thanks for your help!

There's a company in Northbridge MA that manufactures wire mesh products (coated and galvanized). You can pick up directly to save shipping costs, and they sell their seconds on eBay (if you purchase from eBay make sure you note that you'll be picking up). Products are great, prices are decent, and you support local economy! :thumbsup
