Looking for no-kill hatcheries

opinions on these hatcheries please, The Poultry Hatchery, Valley Hatchery, and Nature Berry Farm. I am trying to find a no-kill hatchery, located closer to me (i am in NY State). If you have used one of these please let me know how it went. I currently use Sand Hill Preservation. TIA

so you don't mind getting several male chicks? That type of hatchery is straight run only meaning non sexed chicks. meaning you are alright a d ready to have several roosters? I just want to make sure you understand that. also keeping several roosters can be quite a challenge. They crow loudly. that isn't a problem if neighbors don't mind. The big issue is they usually fight each other severely. and often to the death. another issue is if you don't have enough hens ( usually 1 rooster to 10 or more hens) they can. litterly mate the females to DEATH. not kidding. A LOT is involved with having several roosters at a time. I just want to make certain your aware of that. best of luck.in really do hope this helps a bit.just making sure your prepared for that.

yes thanks i am aware, i will not be keeping the roosters, they will be culled, i have a friend who will help me with that.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that but forgive me, I have to ask, why a no kill hatchery if the males will be dispatched anyway? wouldn't that defeat the purpose of a NO KILL hatchery? it's the EXACT same result. why not go to a regular hatchery and order some for meat and sexed females for eggs? I'm sorry I'm just confused. The people who go to a no kill hatchery usually don't plan on killing them themselves?? it's just a first for me. it kinda defeats the purpose a bit. not that what your doing is wrong. it's great to raise your own meat, and healthy too, it's just, why the no kill hatchery? most hatcheries humanely dispatch the males now and it's very clean now. not much different than dispatching yourself.. I'm confused?

i am not interested in how they cull the birds at most hatcheries. when i cull the roosters they will be handled as humanly as possible and then they will be used by our family as food.

I have no problem raising a rooster and dispatching him for meat. I do have a problem killing him at birth because he is male. Dead is dead, but at least when he is used for meat, his life had purpose.

I know nothing about the hatcheries you mentioned. I have thought about using Sandhill. Other Than the distance, have you been pleased with them?
