Looking for some reassurance. My flock has been destroyed!

with a husky, they are going to have to shave her neck for the electrodes to even reach the skin. Not to mention, this is the downfall of an invisible fence - an excited dog (especially one that hasn't been trained to know what the beep means!) will run right through the shock. However, when they try to go home, they will get shocked again and, since there is nothing exciting enough in the yard to be worth it, they will avoid the shock and just hang around the neighborhood.

Huskies are runners. It's what they do; it's what they have been created to do. They are also escape artists and it takes dedication to keep them contained, not to mention notoriously prey-driven. I just don't think that is going to happen in the current situation. I'd keep hitting the owners with bills and see if you can get them to rehome her to someone who will take good care of her.

They said that the shock is strong enough it knocks her over.
We know that huskies are runner, escape artists, etc. They do too, they just don't seem to care. She can climb fences, dig, jump. I don't think that bills would help. They have spent $800 to keep her already. If she kills any more chickens they absolutely will be billed, but Lady, unfortunately will probably also be dead.

I feel your pain and have some advice. Take pictures whenever these things happen so you can have them in case you go to court. Their homeowners insurance should cover it. Remember to include a estimate of how many eggs you now have to buy. {approx. 6 months worth should suffice] If it does not cost them something they will make no attempts to remedy their error. I have a pressa female and pit bull male that babysit my fowl. I wish I could loan them to you for a couple weeks and your problems would dissapear!! They disposed of one just today. They dont run em off, they bring the dead animal and put it on my porch! I have been raising gamefowl and training dogs for poultry protection for 40 years and wouldnt have it any other way. I worry about no varmits, winged, four legged, or two legged.

I couldn't agree more. Take pictures and then pay the small claims court filing fee (in my county $35) and take them to court. Write up any conversations you have with them (like where she said they've spent $800) and then document how that $800 they've spent hasn't helped (i.e. pics of the dog on your property). When it starts to REALLY affect their bottom line they will 1) property contain the dog if they really care about it, 2) rehome the dog if they don't or 3) euthanize the dog which may be some combination of caring and not caring. Any way the cookie crumbles, you won't have that dog to worry about any more.
