Looking for the best iced tea recipe

Bring 1/2 gallon of water to a boil with 8 lipton tea bags, a handful of dried cranberries, a cinnamon stick and some orange slices in it. Once it boils remove from heat, let rest and cool. Pour into gallon pitcher, add water to fill. Leave tea bags, fruits and cinnamon in pitcher. Refrigerate, dilute as needed to your taste.

EASIEST sweet tea ever!

Use your COFFEE POT. NO, it will NOT taste like coffee! I put 4-6 tea bags where you would put the filter and coffee, fill the pot 3/4 full of water and pour into the maker to brew. When done brewing, put in 1- 1 1/4 c. of sugar to dissolve. Add to enough water to make 1 gallon. If you want it cold fast, pour it over ice before diluting it. I keep this in my fridge at all times, it's half the sugar as kool-aid and my oldest son won't drink anything else most of the time! It's also great with flavored tea or green tea

I am trying to break my diet soda habit, so I am experimenting with iced teas. I made one today with dried ginger, cinnamon sticks, and dried stevia leaf. I set that in a gallon container and left it in the sun. I tasted it after it set for a while, and it needed a bit of citrus so I added lemon juice. Next time I am at vitamin cottage I will get some dried orange peel and add that so I wont need the lemon.

I don't like sweet tea.....gotta have mine lemon flavored and then I only drink the canned kind.....don't brew my own. However, my kids and DH love sweet tea. Here's my concoction:

Bring 2 quarts water to a boil, remove from heat and place 4 Luzianne decaf tea bags in water. Lightly cover with dishtowel and time for 6 minutes. Meanwhile, put 1 1/2 - 2 cups sugar in container, top with 2 cups ice. After six minutes, remove tea bags (I let mine drip for a few seconds), pour into ice & sugar mixture, stir, then add 1 quart water. The kids love it.

Very easy and refreshing ice or sun tea...

10 bags black tea
4 bags of mild (not peppermint) tea (i use Moroccan Mint variety by Stash)

Boil kettle ful of water, steep all bags in hot water for about an hour and half. Remove bags. Poor brewed tea into container add ice and cold water to make a gallon. If you prefer to sweeten it first, add the sugar to the hot brewed tea before adding ice/cold water.

The mint add just a touch of that refreshing flavor without overpowering the tea. It still goes great with food that way.

I'm too lazy to even bother boiling water!

I don't like sweetened tea, but I don't see why you couldn't add sugar or other sweetener to my "recipe"

I just put 6 regular tea bags in a big jar (1/2 gal) filled with tap water in the fridge overnight and Voila! ice tea by morning.
I've done this with flavored teas too and they come out just as nice.

All the ways to make tea above are ways i've used. one thing I do if I'm just using a black tea is to add a pinch of baking soda to the water when I put the tea bags in as it helps smooth out the tannins in the tea. Also since I use Stevia and my BF likes sugar in his.. I make a simple syrup for him that I keep in the fridge for him to add to the tea as it doesnt need to dissolve in the cold tea.

My favorite tea is "the good earth" Original flavor . Hot or cold it's yummy!

Simple Syrup

Pour 2 cups of water and 4 cups of sugar into a saucepan and stir together. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and stir until thickened. Turn off heat, and let cool. Put in a glass container in the fridge.

I love iced tea but was recently informed from my doctor "no caffeine"

I started using decaf but it doesn't compare at all. Does green tea have caffeine? I was also told that even decaf has some caffeine in it, is this true?
I do make alot of mint tea but I really miss the taste with the regular tea bags. Thanks for any help.

I cheat, I bought a Mr. Coffee iced tea maker. It makes the best sweet tea ever. I have been experimenting with flavored teas, so far chai tea is my new favorite!!!

I like my iced tea plain or with mint, and a little sugar.

DH takes my perfectly wonderful tea and ruins it by
adding mounds of sugar--but he's from NC so what does he know??

I didn't know what sweet tea was til I met him and I almost
gagged when I tried it. Don't get me wrong, I have a big sweet
tooth, just not a fan of "SWEEEEET TEAY" that's a southern accent there, y'all!
