Looking for the BEST Incubator

Hi Melissa and welcome to BYC. Brinsea are up there with some of the best

Here's a link to a search I have just done - https://www.backyardchickens.com/search/35201281/?q=best+incubators&o=relevance&c[title_only]=1

This is a useful link of BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3 (there's a guide on how to include your location under your avatar, which will be helpful). You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes

Looking for someone to help me buy the best incubator for hatching chicken eggs. I would like one that will hold at least 50 eggs. I don't mind spending the money for a good one, I just need one that has a high hatch rate and turner. I always loose my chicks at 20 days in, I fight heat and humy the whole 21 days. I am dome with TSC incubators and want a huge upgrade. Can anybody help?
I am having excellent hatch ratios with Ovens made by Farm Innovators. Although we also use Digital Little Giants.
The key to our success is the following-
  • Controlling the room temperature. No drafts, no fluctuations and maintaining a stable environment.
  • Aux Meters is mandatory. The built in meters are simply installed as "Set Up" meters. To ball Park your Unit. Aux meters are FAR MORE ACCURATE. Do not trust your Set Up Meters.
  • Controlling and mastering Relative Humidity. Your region and season will dictate the levels that your will be struggling to maintain. I am in Fl., the humidity is crazy here. I run dry ovens until day 17/18. Then shoot for 55-59% RH. Mastering the ART of hatching takes controlling the air moisture as greater importance than consistent temperature.
My friends provided you with some pretty good links. Whatever you decide, just remember- "Practice makes perfect". Happy Hatching!
