Looking for thicker gauge coated hardware cloth

I'm curious - why aren't you happy with the 19-gauge? Are you looking for 1/2" spacing?
I want to make some wire only temp cages for quails for transport or temporary holding.. with j clips. I want it to be strong and sturdy. 1/2" is great. 1/4" is good too. Everything else I build is wood framed but I want smaller cages without wood.

I just built this but it's 19g and pretty thin. I can't make a wire only cage with this stuff.

I gotcha. The smaller spacing is definitely harder to find in a thicker gauge. I found some in 16-gauge, but it's not coated, just galvanized.

Anything bigger or smaller than 1/2" will be too flexible and weak for a cage. I built a cat catio out of 16 gauge coated galvanized hw cloth and it has 1" x 1" openings .In my opinion the size of the openings is as important as the gauge.Sorry but I couldn't find any 6ft tall rolls of coated 16 gauge hw cloth.
