Hello! Our girls have started laying eggs. They are either on top of their bedding and super dirty or I am having to dig through their bedding to find them. There isn’t a visible nest (or it’s not obvious where they might be hidden). Any tips? I don’t want to have to dig through their bedding every day.

Are they sleeping in there nesting boxes? That would explain the dirty eggs. They should sleep on roost for hygiene, since sleeping in a nesting box causes there poop to sit under them all nigh, which can lead to dirty vents, and fly strike. You can try roll away nesting boxes for the hidden eggs.

Sorry I should have specified in the post these are ducks. Luckily my chickens are very good about using their nesting boxes.
Ohhhhh! Well that changes things! Alright, so forget the roost thing, 😜 I have been wondering this my self, if its not okay of chickens to sleep in nesting boxes, what about ducks? Anyway, that would prevent poopy eggs. Roll away nesting boxes would still help.
