In August I asked my sweet husband to build a coop, and I had purchased 8 chicks by September. Loving caring for them and watching them grow. We only had one roo in the batch, and he was successfully rehomed last week. I've waited a long time to follow through on this dream of mine.
We live in a neighborhood, so had to get the rules changed to allow poultry, before we bought the chicks. Once that was done, it took Jim and I 3 months to finish the coop, we move a bit slower now, and working full time. All I have to do now is wait for eggs! I have one laying, and she has given me 3 perfect brown pullet eggs. I have 2 Red Stars, 2 Buff Orpingtons (they really are sweet), 2 Olive eggers, and one Ameraucana. I guess we shall know soon if they are true olive eggers and Ameraucana. Have a great day.
