Looking to surrender 3 hens, Williamstown, Ma

I don't think I can take them :(, but I want you to get them to a loving home, too! They may just be slowing down with the laying as they age. Have you tried posting on the Massachusetts page?

What is the Massachusetts page?
I just don't want them to be killed!

Me neither!
OK, go to forums, then "social," then "where am I? where are you?"
Then you'll see a link to a list by state -- click on Massachusetts and you'll find people in the area (you may even want to check out the NY and VT forums since they may be closer to you).
I'll ask around my area, too (eastern MA), because I think there are lots of people that would take in happy, healthy hens that still may lay during spring/summer/fall.

Hi, do you still have them? I work in Albany, NY and live a long distance west of there and would love to have them to live with my girls. I am not experienced enough to know how long chickens lay but they are nice even when old and the eat bugs (no ticks on my dogs!). Can you send me a private message if they are still available.

That's a great idea. After I googled Williamstown MA I thought about referring to the NY members. Hope you are able to help her out. If not, try the MSPCA. They do take chickens in for adoption.

As a last resort they could go to your local animal shelter. They charge prospective owners for pets, so very unlikely anybody would adopt them for dinner, but they might not know anything about chicken care. Have you tried your area's Craigslist?
