Looks like a chick was being formed inside the hen. Laid without a hard shell.

    [​IMG] Did all that come out just like that? Did you eggtopsy it to see what's inside the whatever it is? I've never seen anything like this and I've seen some strange things.

    It might be part of her ovary. Has she laid any more eggs since this one? I agree, that is a bizarre one.

    Cut it open. The membrane was difficult to break and now I am thinking that this is her ovary. I found it like the original pictures with a bunch of other eggs.

    I thought it was a soft shell but that long strip is what I think might have been a shell.
