I have a jersey giant hen who for 2 days is so puffed out looking that she literally looks like a person who stuck her finger in a light socket. I've been at work during the day so haven't really been able to observe feeding/drinking, but my DH let her out to free range this afternoon with the other adult birds and she didn't seem to appear sluggish or anything. Egg production has been down for the past couple of days... We have someone not laying and someone else who has all of a sudden started laying much smaller eggs than normal? Could my puffed up girl be egg bound? Has anyone else's chicken ever looked like Frankenstein-hair electrocuted before?
My other jersey giant girl looks smooth like normal with the exception of a bald spot on the front of her neck which doesn't look like its growing any feathers back in. Mites?
All of my other birds are fine... Just issues with my 2 JGs...
