Looks like we could order 10 - 15...from where??

Depending on where in MN you are, there is a hatchery up north. I want to say Pine River? I'm not sure, but the name is Strombergs. I've heard good things about them.

I just looked and the Ideal site says

Ordering Policy and Special Services

MINIMUM ORDER: The minimum dollar value for an order is $25.00 in poultry, excluding male only chick orders.

There is no minimum number of chicks you can order as long as your total order of poultry is $25.00, not including shipping and handling.

I agree, it does say that.

BUT, on the actual shopping cart, it says

The minimum order is 20.00

AND the checkout button will show up once you have hit 20.00. Where as it will NOT show up at 19.95. The only button there at the 19.99 and under mark is the 'continue shopping' button.

before I posted this last night, I filled a cart with various things and tested it out. Because I had seen where everyone posted about the 25.00. I knew I hadnt spent 25 to start with, but wanted to CMA.

Of course 5.00 isnt that big of a difference. and you will have to add at least 7.00 to that (after your 20.00 minimum) plus 1.00 everytime you change breeds of birds.

So, 10 differnt birds at one each would add 17.00 to your order.

You may also get better deals from local breeders. You can find a list of hatcheries by state and breeders by breed at www.CountyChickens.com.

Keep in mind that almost all hatcheries have a "small order" charge when you purchase fewer than 100 chicks. I suspect it's because the box costs them the same (and they aren't cheap!) whether they ship 10 or 100.
