Looky what came up out of the woods today (3 pics)

I am on the fence about snakes... if they dont bother me then I wont bother them. Im not afraid as we dont really have many poisinous around here unless your in the woods or by water but they do startle me when i see them. Last year was the first the fields here were done up in 25 years and I kept finding them in my flower garden and garage

I didn't think about it,but the farmers were plowing the fields behind our property. There are canals back there maybe that's were he came from.
I'm defintely living in my element,Hotwings.I have found paradise for sure. The nutra are a pest here to the farmers. My dog,Cat-dog got into a conibear trap last yr & almost died. The nutra come & eat the duck food I put out for the wild ducks, but they don't eat alot. It does freeze here overnite in the winter sometimes,so I guess that the snakes do hibernate.
I'm living my dream now,but another dream would to be photographing for Nat'l Geographic.

I posted these pic here last yr, but they are my favorite snake pics.
Diamond back water snake,non-poisonous.I can't remember who it was on here that helped me identify what kind it was.

I think this is the same snake,it bolted up on the bank with a catfish in it's mouth. It was the most totally awesome sigh I've ever witnessed..

wow thats a fat sucker. Did you count your chickens?? I have never seen one that fat. hold on i've never seen one of those in the wild period. only garters, pygmys, bl racers and a african rock down in the glades.
thank you for not killing it, they prob keep the rodents away from the coop

That is a GORGEOUS big healthy looking snake! Thank's for not killing him! I've only seen gophers, garters, and rattle snakes around here. I almost stepped on a rattle snake that was sunbathing on a dirt path once while i was leading my horse. I saw it when my shoe was about 2 inches from it and jumped back, startling my horse. The snake moved and reared up and my horse saw it, grunted, and lunged and trampled it. I just let go of the reins and let her stomp on it for a full minute because she looked ticked at it. I felt bad for the snake but we were in a very populated area with lots of kids and horses walking around. I still would have rather had someone come catch it, but around here all they do is kill it anyway...
