Two of my RIR's are missing feathers on their backsides, where the egg comes out. We don't have a rooster. What is happening?

I was going to suggest mites, also. I just got over a mini-mite outbreak. I could not figure why my chicks feathers were curly, so I watched them and it was because they were chasing mites so hard on their skin, the feathers were curling from moving them. I moved htem all and sprayed the brooders, put sevin dust in the adult dusting areas. Seems under control now--whew!
