My daughter took me to see Loretta Lynn last night. She played at UCA in Conway, AR to a sellout crowd in a small auditorium. Did you know she is 75 years old? After her first three songs, she had to sit down. But she can still belt them out. Her son sang as did her twin daughters. This was the first stop on her tour. She forgot some of the words to a song, but just laughed about it. She and her son were throwing quips back and forth it sure was funny. This year they are celebrating 50 years performing.

I have seen her a few years back in Winter Haven Florida. I love her. I also went to her birthplace in VanLear/Butcher Holler Ky.

I love her story. Mooney was a dandy, but he didn't give up until he got her fame and fortune. I was just thinking about her the other day, because I knew she had been sick. It is great to hear she is still able to perform.

My dad used to take me to rodeos when I was a kid. Once, she was the entertainment there, but gosh, that was soooo long ago, I barely remember.

I just watched Coal Miner's Daughter yesterday and then the interview with Loretta Lynn later on the dvd.

"Please make welcome the First Lady of Country Music....Miss Loretta Lynn!!" ~~ Do they still say that?
