My 6 week old chicks seem super healthy (see attached photos of my gang) but I am finding feathers (photo also attached) in their coop. I am a first time BYC parent and am not sure if I should be concerned. I thought they should be getting feathers not losing them so am just wanting to be sure everything is adit should be.

Thank you!
Maggie

This can happen, I had a couple of birds who lost quite a lot of feathers but still seemed healthy and after a while, grew them back. I would keep an eye out to watch that the birds aren’t pecking each other, hope this helps

They look healthy in the photos, I would say do not stress. Youngings especially will molt and drop feathers at random times, they are surely awkward teenagers. Make sure that nobody is pecking eachother (if you’re worried about this then set up a chair and watch them for an hour or two on bully watch) and check for specks of blood. I would 100% say all is well in your flock.

Thank you! They are all good to one another! One happy family!!
