Lost cause eggs?

Well, I’m proud to say I hatched two beautiful baby ducklings so far in my first incubation! Of course, with every hatch there’s bound to be a low point: The next two babies were just short of hatching but sadly didn’t make it (still figuring out why)

Now I have a handful of rough looking eggs in the bator and can’t tell if any have potential or if I’m looking at the wraps of my first hatch… thoughts?

I’m sorry I’m advance for the low quality!

Are you able to candle from the air cell end It gives a better look
Do you see blood veins or movement in any of them ?
We’re these eggs in an egg turner pointy end down ?
I ask because a few pics look like the ones from when I let a school do a hatch and they used a Turner with pointy end down. I found the eggs looked much different then when I hand turn mine laying on their side
All 5 of those babies did hatch

A few of them have air cells on the pointy side (those have cracks on the tip of the egg too), but were moving all around a few days ago when I candled.

I do see blood veins in them, but hard to tell if there’s much movement. I took them out of the rotator a few days ago for lockdown, but those were still behind by a little bit so i tried my best to keep up with hand turning..

None of these eggs appear to be good to me.

A few of them have air cells on the pointy side (those have cracks on the tip of the egg too), but were moving all around a few days ago when I candled.

I do see blood veins in them, but hard to tell if there’s much movement. I took them out of the rotator a few days ago for lockdown, but those were still behind by a little bit so i tried my best to keep up with hand turning..

Did you use a Turner that holds them upright ?
Mine looked like this too at the school
I did have one end up with 2 full air cells with membrane blocking both ends and baby only had the middle of the egg to grow. He was hatched with help as he didn’t find either air cell he couldn’t move to find them
But after 4 weeks of doing everything possible (vet bills at 700 ) and taking him to a guy who works on back and necks I wasn’t able to have the neck bone with a large bend like a v corrected
He was unable to bath , preen , walk , stand or get feed and water without my help
Unfortunately quality of life for him wasn’t there
The others that looked like there was room in the pointy end didn’t have 2 air cells they filled in the last 2 days before hatch

Its not made much progress since earlier but it’s little beak is peaking out of the shell and I hear breathing and peeping every now and then…any reason for concern do you think? Its not made much progress since earlier but it’s little beak is peaking out of the shell and I hear breathing and peeping every now and then…any reason for concern do you think? I’m attaching a picture i took a few minutes ago

It can take them 24-48 hours to hatch after external pip
Make sure humidity is up and double / triple check the other eggs before unplugging

It’s hard for us to judge on just pics as we don’t always get the same view as in person
There has been cases where they don’t see movement in 2 mins so they think it’s gone and open it up to find a live duckling
When they have made it to lockdown I always check several times before calling it over
Keep us posted as he should hatch within the next 24 hours

Did he make that hole himself or did you help ? Normally they don’t make a hole that big on their own unless they are stuck and can’t zip
You can see if you can move the membrane away from his beak and use a Q tip to gently rub along his beak making sure no goo is stuck to it
Can you candle him to see if you see veins ?
