Nope, not a chicken. I'm thinking Pheasant as well. Male.
If no one claims it, it's possible they dumped it because it's a male. That happens with roosters all the time, I would be prepared that someone might not claim it.

Just from looking at Google images, it looks like it may be a different breed because of the orange face. Maybe thats just because it's young though?
