Lost earing

I lost a hoop earring in my chicken coop. Is it something I should worry about? I know it seems stupid to panic about this but I adore my chickens and don't want any of them to get hurt.

They will probably find it because they're curious creatures. I'm not sure if they'll ingest it because my chickens have never tried to eat anything except food even if I drop something.

Depends on how big it is. If it's small enough to be swallowed then, I would really try to find it. Swallowing metal things can cause what is called 'hardware disease'. If it's very small, not sharp, and can be passed through the digestive tract then sometimes it goes OK, but if it's sharp then it can cause a puncture and infection internally.
