She was a big beautiful sweet hen who laid huge 2.2 ounce eggs nearly everyday. She was sweet, and I loved to see her fuzzy panted legs running around the yard... She passed last night, warm in the house, from unknown causes. She was coming out of a molt and because very ill at the tail end of it. I really really enjoyed having her, and I can't believe how sad I am

It is one thing if the bird is intended for meat, but this was unexpected

I'm so glad she crossed the Rainbow Bridge from inside your house. It's why I have an " infirmary" inside, because I was so saddened by one of my flock " patients" passing in the convalescent coop outside. Still very tough and heartbreaking, but just a tad less knowing she was comfortable in the crossing.
