Lost my chicken tonight - help me figure out what happened please.

AWW Suzie! How is Blindside and how are YOU? Time goes so quickly, and you are still AWESOME!

Hugs to you sister!

Love,

Pat

We have hen feather pecking or something going on! Ugh, it is always something! Poor poor girl!

I've been wondering that too, Suzie. I hope Blindside is doing well.

I've been watching the girls and Roo and everyone seems fine so whatever Rachael had was isolated. Thanks for everyone's support. The forums here have been so helpful.

Hey Sister!!!! How are you???

Well Pat and Wintersun.... Blindside is doing well... I had some wonderful advice and am dosing him with an antibiotic, he is looking much better, the swelling is going down and I am hopeful he will recover ( yes....Pat... his photograph is on your Birthday card....)

I did not get much sleep on Tuesday night... at 3.00am I heard the distinctive sound of him crowing.... cockadoodledoo was repeated throughout the night... bless him! He is now back with the flock and is happy escorting Sprout on her forays for worms and bugs!

I will email you my beloved Sister... life is crazy here...

Love and hugs

Suzie

Wintersun -
So sorry that your Rachel died. I just lost my flock of 4 geese to a weasel. So senseless. I am in NH too down the road in Brookline. I have been raising chickens and geese for years and am always so sad when one is lost. You can only do what you can and learn through experience. I had 2 Roos and a hen that we're only a year old die last year. They were all from the same hatch. None of my other chickens that were unrelated to them we're affected. I have never figured out what happened to them and will always wonder.

:( :(
