Lost my favorite... Happy Update!!! :D

My BF called and said he let the chickens out of their coop this afternoon.. Came inside for just a minute and went back out to find only three and a pile of 10 or 15 feathers in the grass. I got home and found out it was my favorite girl, Eggie :

I'm extra sad because it was their 10 week b-day just yesterday and they were so happy and healthy. I think it must have been a hawk... I just hope it was over quickly.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's really hard losing them young and unexpectedly like that, especially when they're your favorites. I lost two OEGB pullets and a cockerel last month that I really loved, and it hurt badly...

I really miss those guys. Just know your BYC family is here for you, and understands how you feel.

OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!

I just went outside to cuddle with one of my other chickens to make me feel better and who's standing there at the coop door?!?! EGGIE!!!!!

I can't believe it! I have no idea where the heck she was or what the pile of feathers in the yard is about but YAAAAAAY!!!! My baby is back!

Thanks! I'm thinking it's definitely time to get on building that covered run this weekend though... I certainly don't want to go through that again and they have apparently found a really good place to hide. The bf and I scoured every square inch of the yard and didn't see or hear a trace.
