we are all here for you no matter what. That is why we share our hearts with each member, we all understand or have been there. So sorry.

I am so sorry for your loss. If I was there you'd be getting the biggest longest hug you've ever had. Just remember that you did change crazylegs life while you had her. She lived a happy life with you. Everyone needs someone to love them. You were there for crazylegs and she was there for you.

I've been there too, hysterically crying because your favourite bird has had the nerve to die and leave you...
I cried for a week. I had to call into work. Thank the Gods, I work at a petshop where they understood. It finally took Slifer coming to me in a dream before I finally was able to work through my grief. I still cry sometimes when I think about her, but it's more that she's not hurting anymore.
My condolences on the loss of your CrazyLegs. Non chicken folks don't get it.

THANK GOD FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU..YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR WORDS OF SUPPORT AND CONDOLENSES HAS DONE TO HELP ME . I HAVE BEEN AN ANIMAL LOVER MY ENTIRE LIFE BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE OWNED CHICKENS AND I CAN TELL YOU THEY HAVE CHANGED MY LIKE THESE LAST 4 OR SO YEARS. I WAS RAISED ON A FARM BUT WE NEVER HAD CHICKENS SO UNTIL NOW, IN MY 40'S, I KNOW WHAT TRUE LOVE IS. THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING AND LETTING ME KNOW THAT THERE ARE OTHERS OUT THERE THAT KNOW WHAT KIND OF FRIEND I'VE LOST. ON A GOOD NOTE THOUGH , I DID HAVE THE CHANCE TO HATCH OUT TWO OF CRAZY LEGS EGGS AND THEY ARE ABOUT TWO WEEKS OLD SO CROSS YOUR FINGERS ..MY GIRLS LIVES ON.

Just finished reading this thread and it's wonderful to know people understand and care, isn't it? I am so sorry about Crazy Legs. She will never leave your heart. I know. I lost my sweet little hen, Miss Gold, to a fox last year and I still think about her alot. She was one of those special, special chickens too. Time will lessen the pain, sweetie. :aww Forgot to add, I'm sooo happy about Crazy Leg's chicks!!! God is good!

I'm so sorry for you. Believe me, we know how it feels. We have lost a few and I have spent a lot of hours crying over our birds...they are so vulnerable, and personable, and so much smarter than non-chicken people think... and they depend on us...I think that's a few reasons why we love them so much....that's what we're all here for, for each other to lean on when we need to. .

Oh , my goodness , you are absolutely right until now I hadn't thought about it like that . These wonderful friends have filled a void in my life and heart that I hadn't realized. My children are 17 & 15 and I guess I am experiencing "empty nests" , you know at this age kids don't depend on their moms or dads for that matter like my sweet and darling chickens do. They are always happy and eager to see their "mom" not like teenagers who some times look at me as if I just landed on this planet. My sweet Crazy Legs depended on me and wanted nothing more than to be right beside me no matter what mind numbing chore I was doing. It has been a while since my teens have depended on me like that but that is why I raised them to be independent I guess. Sorry for the babbling on and on but I appreciate your input , it has helped alot.
