Lost Polish crested

I found our Polish crested laying dead on pen floor the other evening. She was only 2 and was the one that my granddaughter showed in 4H. None of the other birds are acting different. Any thoughts as to what might have happened? Lot of tears were shed!

Oh, I am so sorry. It can be tough to determine why a chicken died. Some people to send their chicken off to get a necropsy. Here is a link to some links if you are interested: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=40141

Unfortunately chickens can die due to mysterious reasons, or suddenly due to congenital problems. Keep an eye out for any symptoms in your other chickens, but hopefully they will all be fine.
