I am fairly new to all of this. Have 3 Buff Orpington pullets that are 14 weeks old and doing great. Now have (had :() 7 more-3 Barred Rock and 4 Cuckoo Marans that are almost 5 weeks old. They've been doing great too until today. Left them in their portable run this morning with their normal food and water and a watermelon rind to snack on while we were gone for Drs appointment. My husband was working out in the yard this afternoon and noticed one wasn't moving and a few of the others were acting weird (falling over and looking lethargic). Im worried they were in the sun too much but it wasn't that warm out today (85 maybe). I just don't know. I'm worried it might be something else because I've never seen anything about overheating in all of the articles I've been reading since I started all of this.

I'm sad

Chickens need shade. They can become overheated very easy. I would get them in shade right away and try and cool them down. Dip their feet in some cool water. They can die from overheating very rapidly.
