So the carport is gravel. It would have been a good location, but it sounds like grass is our best option. We're trying to find locations for the chickens and a greenhouse expected at about the same time. Lots of things to think about with both!

Probably too much work, but... you could dig it out, if you really want that location. Doesn't have to be completely gravel free, just want most of it gone, and then replace it with a good amount of litter of your choice.
