My Embdens were driving me nuts with 3 AM cheerleading for their pal who was broody. They would wake me up out of a sound sleep and their night pen is 800 ft. away from my bedroom. I was at Walgreens and they had a "Bark Off" ultrasonic training aid for $10 and I got it for my dog who gets stuck barking at one spot by the fence. The Bark Off only carries 20 ft. but I thought it would get her away from that spot.
Then the geese went off and woke me up AGAIN. The next morning it occurred to me that a goose's brain is just like a dog's so I put the Bark Off on the night pen fence and waited. They hauled off with their hootin' and hollerin' and then stopped suddenly and cocked their heads. They tried it a couple more times and shut up just as fast. I can't hear the ultrasonic but they can and it WORKS! My 8 geese are quiet all night long! It lets them talk among themselves but if they raise the roof it goes off. It is a beautiful thing.
