I have three chicks @a month old. At what age do they start their calls? Is it not till sexual maturity? I've been told that's @ 2yrs of age, is that the case? This is my first time with peas.

having a peahen will make her worse,we have a pair white,greens ones and 2hen ofind indian blue we need a male indian blue so if you do not what him we would take him, we live on a farm he would be happy, thank you kelly 462-0621

Depends on the Color and age. An year old India Blue Male runs about 50 - 75 down here

I also love their call. I have my three boys and no peahens around, but they like to call early in the mornings. I live out in the woods and if my neighbors hear them it's okay. (I hear their roosters and cows without complaint.) I always check on them when they start calling just to make sure nothing is wrong. I'm still rather new to this, I've only had the boys a little less than a year. I have noticed that when they are startled they honk instead of call. Anyway, I love to listen to them.
