Louis is bleeding!!!

I just caught donald trying to eat another of louis feathers! i took it from him and it had blood all over the stick bit at the bottom! im so upset for louis! why wont defend himself?

If they aren't fully feathered I would put them into two separate brooders for now, just to protect the one that is getting injured. If you have put them outdoors and you want to keep them both I would put some kind of wall down the middle of the pen so one of them can't pick on the other. I imagine that is a temporary solution, and if one is beating the other up that you may have to trade one out for a more mellow duck. I just hate to see the little guy getting beat up - just trying to help out. I hope you find a good solution.

they are staying outside tonight i just got gas for the patio heater im gonna leave that on all night it will probably be warmer outside than inside with the heater on, its their first night out so i dont wanna split them up, i heard that if its dark they wont fight and it will be dark because im locking them in the house part of the run and stuffing it with straw and just leaving them water, they have never had food at night since they hatched so they should be ok if the bullying carries on then il put a divider up, i know louis will hate having donald took away and louis is the victim! whenever i seperate them its sounds as though they are crying for eachother

My littlest duck Doogie, the one that got bullied, he's the most dependant on the other two. He does his nut if he can't see them. The other two are fine mooching by themselves but if Doogie can't see Rory or Mr. Snoogles he quacks so hard he squeaks. What is that? I'd have thought the little victim duck would love it when the big meanie ducks go away but they really don't. Hope tonight goes well. Give them a snoogle from me.

They certainly never make it easy, do they? Out of curiosity, have you tried the suggestion with the chicken wire? Often if they can still see each other, they accept the separation with less fuss. Still helps to set it up in the morning so they have all day to not keep you up shrieking about it, though.

Peter: be a little mean! It's for their own good!
