My boyfriend is an avid hunter. I am hoping I will finally have time to go this season as well. Hoping we can bag a couple for the freezer! I also want to eventually get into falconry so I can rabbit hunt with a hawk...it looks like it is so much fun!

As far as backstrap....we will take it and beat it into thin strips, marinate it in this Dale's marinade(I think), then roll it up with cream cheese and a jalapeno in the middle, and wrap it in bacon. Then put it on the grill and cook to perfection....talk about heaven on a toothpick! We also use wild pig backstrap for these "bombers" as we call them.

well of course I had deer. I call deer - uh deer. Lol

Only in Louisiana.

LOL that's what we call it too!

On the way to meet Mike in Natchitoches yesterday, we had to swerve over at one point - there was a big ol dead alligator right in the middle of the road -- was a good five feet long!

"Only in Louisiana"!

Check out the hotel where we'll be staying in Manhatten on 7th Avenue (walking distance from the Garden):
www.affinia.com - whooo, swanky!!

Cockers show on Tuesday & I think it's televised Tues night from 8 pm-11. We have three teams we are supporting -- one in each color variety, just by coincidence!

Team Sully -- aka GR CH Nickleby's Hero On The Hudson -- silver buff - this is my friend's dog!
Team Bentley -- aka GR CH Windsor 18K Rolls Royce -- black & white particolor (she used to own this one, a friend of hers does now)
Team Beckham -- aka GR CH Casablanca's Thrilling Seduction - black (he won sporting last year - will this be his year to win Best in Show)? my friend co-owns another Cocker along w/Beckham's owner.

Our team members are flying in from California, Texas, Louisiana, one lives right there in New York, and Canada.
We've all been friends for years, support Cocker rescue, some of us show - both conformation & performance, some are judges, some of us do therapy work w/our dogs, several of us write about Cockers-our Canadian friend does a monthly column, all of us are owned & loved by Cockers.

And I know this has absolutely nothing to do with chickens - -but I had to share my joy!

Thank you for sharing that information. I need to lock this in on my phone calendar.
