We live in New Iberia. I viewed your webpage, and I have to say, your family members (referring to animals, of course, LOL) look amazing! Such beautiful animals!

Thank you!

You are right down the road from me. I live in Opelousas.

There are a lot of us on this thread that have all kinds of breed of chickens, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding what you need or we can point you in the right direction.

Yay! Finally going in the right direction! LOL I don't believe I've ever been there, but I'm almost positive my husband has. He's born and raised here. That's wonderful! We've been trying, somewhat unsuccessfully, for some time now, to meet Chickeneers. Are you always selling yours? Or, are there certain times of the year only? Still new to all of this, and finding out what we have, and what to do with 'em! ;D

They are soooooooooo cute !!!!!!!!!!!

I'm ready to ship my turkeys to a reform school. They literally pulled a laying hen OUT of the nesting box and drug her to the ground and beat her up. :smack I was furious when I saw this!!!!!!!!!!! They are as bad as the RIRs I got back in December 2012. As far as they go, they ran a goose that was setting on eggs OFF of her nest. :barnie

I sell mine sometimes but for the most part I keep my hens for eggs. I have an egg business and my customers love the farm fresh eggs, so I have to make sure I have enough hens to supply my customers.

I can totally understand that. We have several cartons in the fridge right now, and finally I told my hubby to just let the little Bantam set, because we have more than enough eggs for now! Hopefully, there are more hens than Roos this time. Seems we've hatched quite a few roos lately. LOL If you ever decide you want to sell a Jersey, Ameraucana, or Barred Rock, we would be so pleased to buy it. We've been checking everywhere we know, and have been able to find any.

I can remember last year when I hatched out 65+ roosters. :th I nearly died with all of that. :gig Lucky for me a lot of people bought them and we processed a lot for the freezer. We had many gumbos and stews. :drool

I will definitely let you know. If you are looking for a well-mannered RIR, then MY pullets are NOT the pullets for you. They are bullies !!!! I don't know what I'm going to do with the reform school rejects. They are so terrible, until I'm afraid of them.
