Cancun -That trip was years ago -- Gorgeous hotel -- just gorgeous, tropical plants everywhere, plush rooms. Everything else sucked - was warned not to have ice in drinks - (I dont' even like a glass of water w/o ice in it) - not to eat fresh fruit (which was everywhere) - watch out for "mystery meats" at the table (hello, goat anyone)? & for muggers - it was HOT (I can have that at home) - I lost my prescription sunglasses in the ocean when I got knocked down by a wave, & on the last day there we all got stuck in the elevator about 20 stories up as we were leaving - can you say Hello Claustrophobia? let me tell you, the oxygen level in that little space got depleted real fast! Especially when I pushed the "panic" button -- and it fell off into my hand!!!
Over 1/2 the people on the trip came home real sick - Montezuma's Revenge is not a myth - two of them had to go to the E.R. We had started taking Cipro before going there & during the trip & we avoided the ice & etc. so we skated. It was beautiful country but very extreme -- either extreme poverty or extreme wealth - there is no middle class. I have no desire to go back & especially now with the drug cartels everywhere.
We've been to the Bahamas twice & both trips were really nice experiences. (they were also company trips, back in the days when companies still did that).

Not that most of the world wouldn't want to go to Mexico, but that it sounds like the living conditions of most of the world. We would dip most fresh veggies and fruits in bleach water when we lived in Kenya. As for getting sick...it's a little like with chickens. I've heard that chickens can become sick from other flocks because they are exposed to new germs. Is that right? Same thing for people, IMO. Seems like when we go to a "new" country someone always becomes sick and cannot keep anything down.Sounds like most of the world.
We ate Boudin for the first time at a friend's house last week. It was amazing!!!!!!! My one year old ate so much that Kandy said "He's as full as a tick!". That was the first time I had heard that expression. Hilarious!Has anyone ever eaten Boudin at Best Stop in Scott?
