You've got those girls spoiled rotten. :lau :lau :lau

You think that's funny...you haven't heard the best part! I thought maybe they didn't like the bright colors, so I went and bought paint for plastics and painted it a nice brown, earthy color.  They still said no! :idunno :gig

That is TOOOOOOOO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!! That made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know -- and how many people do you suppose want to inherit an entire flock of peafowl, right?

This was the first time I've ever had peahens laying, and their first time as well -- neither of them showed the slightest interest in wanting to brood. They just laid their eggs

I can't wait to see all your baby pea pictures next year!!! Wow, it would be an exotic experience to visit you lol!

Terri has some BEAUTIFUL peas!!!! Stunning colors!

Spoiled rotten! that's those foreigner chicks for you! :lau

:yuckyuck   To be fair to them, they really couldn't turn around in the box.  I didn't realize they were so meaty lol! :D

Yes, the boxes are a tight fit.

What kind of nesting boxes do you currently use?

I'm finding that the girls also love the plastic milk crates.

My DH built nest boxes into the main coop that we can access from outside, but I added a couple of breeding pens (

) and had to put boxes in them. The litter bucket is in with the Ameraucanas, but they're on strike. We put a simple open top wooden box in with the Basques and it's much better for them.

Well that's good. I'm glad all of the girls are happy. :)

True quote from a fellow hot - air balloonist who brought his 10 yr old daughter over to visit: "Sam, you've got to love this place. It's like visiting the Isle of Dr. Moreau or something". Um, yeah, that would be us.

I just love that. Makes me realize "I am not alone" or rather, "WE are not alone". Maybe we need to start a support group.
Nevermind, Roxeanne already did that!

Gee where is everybody? Me, I've been at Wally-world - boy it was a mad house today! You would think people have never seen a ham before. I thought a fight was going to break out in the meat department!

I just got back from a run to Petrus for feed, let the girls out to roam, threw some grass clippings to the peas, now me & the pups are going to take a nap!
